On big project the beach masters in the site office monitors all the vessels in the project area (that are working for the project).
It is possible to use the AIS messages for this. We can add each vessel to the Template DB and to each vessel a Positioning system and a Gyro sytem and that will only use the specific IMO number to filter the required information for those systems to position the vessels Online in the Navigation Display. The beach master needs to update/remove the objects every time a vessel leaves to another project. Intead we would like to setup a Generic Display that can show the the data for a selected IMO number as this is easier to modify On the fly/Without going offline.
Suggested Improvement:
The suggestion is to have AIS information available in the generic layout editor (display).
The user can manually select/enter the IMO number and select the information he want to display from the AIS message field. When the AIS data from that IMO number is received (can be verified via the observation physics display) it should be visible. When no data is received, from some time, no data should be visible or the customer needs to set a stale age. The data could Online be stored to a Generic ASCII log file.
